Emerging Youth Speakers is our step-by-step, in-person classroom program that helps kids find their voice, build confidence, and discover just how much fun public speaking can be! With small group sizes and three levels to grow through, your child will learn to think on their feet, share their ideas, and speak with confidence — all in a supportive, friendly environment.
Who is it for?
Children ages 7–11 who want to build their speaking and presentation skills in a safe, welcoming classroom. Perfect for shy kids learning to speak up — and for chatterboxes who love having an audience!
Level 1: Foundations of Speaking
- Off the Top! impromptu speaking (practiced at every level, growing in complexity!)
- How to open and close a speech with impact
- Words that paint vivid pictures for the listener
- How to give and receive friendly, helpful feedback
- Confidence to speak in front of a group
- Final Project: A 2–3 minute speech about something they love!
Level 2: Storytelling & Vocal Variety
- Playful tongue twisters to build clear pronunciation
- How to craft and tell a great story — with a clear beginning, middle, and end
- Using vocal variety to make stories come alive
- Fun interpretive readings to boost expression
- Off the Top! impromptu games that challenge them to think quickly
- Final Project: Tell a story with a lesson for the audience
Level 3: Body Language & Demos
- How gestures, movement, and posture add meaning to a speech
- Charades to practice expressive body language
- How to give a “how-to” or demo talk with confidence
- Teamwork skills in group presentations
- Off the Top! impromptu games that really stretch their thinking
- Final Project: A group demo talk presented to family and friends
